Ep1 1、 被问及自己是不是一个自命不凡的人： （提问原话是 "Do you tend to look down on people?" 毫无意外的，Fran把它改写成了更直白的自问——"You mean, am I a snob?") "There are certain kinds of snobberies that I think are bad - of course those are not the kind of snobberies I have." 她的snoberry和对方家境/学校/背景无关，但和对方的意见是否与她一致有关——It has to do with "do you agree with me on this?" "People frequently irritated... not irritated. it's too mild of a word...infuriated by me. It does somewhat surprise me, because so what? Like who am I? Am I making decisions for you? I'm not in charge of anything." "I can understand people being angry at me when I say things like 'ppl should do this' if people thought that I could change it: But if I could change it, I wouldn't be so angry." "The anger is, I have no power, but I'm filled with opinions." 2、 说纽约市长是份很难的工作： "So it should be split in two, and I would be the night mayor." （谐音梗大户：night mayor = nightmare） 3、 说纽约是个很难afford的地方，yet so many ppl come live here： "You realized it's so hard to live in New York, that when people say:' Why do you live in New York?' you really can't answer them, except you know you have contempt for people who don't have guts to do it. 'You live in a place where things are just easily done, where ppl are nice to you, where no one's trying to cheat you every five seconds. You call that grown-up life?'" （所谓new york tough大概就是这样一种没有来由又很有来由的自信和不屑） Ep2 1、 说到为什么自己决定不当艺术家： “You decided not to be an artist. Too pleasurable, Fran.” “It’s like when people say, ‘Why are Jews not allowed to eat bacon?’ And I always saying, ‘Too delicious.’” That’s what here. I mean, what’s not here? That’s the way to look at it. Wherever you are from, that’s not here.” 然后说她这个年龄段的人来纽约，是因为是gay（只有纽约最包容那时候），于是导致了gay的聚集： “...creates the density of angry homosexuals, which is always good for a city. There’s nothing better for a city than a dense population of angry homosexuals. and at a certain point, they became very happy homosexuals when they found out, ‘it’s so fun here!’” 3、 说到电视上播音乐会演唱会时，她总是很在意观众——观众听到一首歌，尤其如果是年轻时流行的歌，会那么快乐，回忆起以前的点滴： “No one is loved like musicians. Musicians are loved by people, really loved, because they give them the ability to express their emotiona and their memories. There’s no other form that does that. I mean, I really think musicians, probably musicians and cooks, are responsible for the most pleasure in human life.” Moton： “Do I think Moton is the greatest music that ever made? I don’t. But if you ask me ‘The second you hear this, do you feel happier?’, I do. I mean, music makes people happier, and it doesn’t harm them. Most things that make you feel better are harmful. You know, so it’s very unusual. It’s like a drug that doesn’t kill you.” It’s like 灵丹妙药！ Ep3 1、 说到早上6点准备出门赶飞机，遇到住同一栋楼的邻居健身回来： "I was in the lobby with luggage at 6 in the morning to catch a plane, and someone in my building, at 6 am, they come back from gym. Well that's why they have money. On the other hand, you call that a life?" 相反，她赚来的钱是为了花在这里，花在这个公寓楼，花在她所再这里拥有的的生活上: "If you see me with luggage at the lobby, I'm going to make money, okay? I'm not going to spend it. I spend it here. Here's where I spend it. I get on the plane. I go to places. I make money. The money comes back. I give it to the building. I stay in the building. It's like I earn the money so I have this home." "I have to keep going out so I can stay here. But as far as wanting to go places, I can't believe people do it for fun. When I at the airport, I see ppl going on vacation. I think, 'How horrible could your life be?' Like, how bad is your regular life, that you think 'you know what'd be fun? Let's get the kids, go to the airport, with thousands pieces of luggage, stand in the lines, be yelled by a bunch of morons, leave late, be squished all together, and This is better than our actual life.'"
